Every California public school is has an annual School Accountability Report Card to provide information for the public to "evaluate and compare schools for student achievement, environment, resources and demographics."

Beginning with the Class of 2006, all California public high school students will be required to take and pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE).
